IA WoW Closed
So just to make this more formal for anyone living under a rock. While IA itself is not dead. IA WoW is.
Short, sweet, to the point.

Last I saw IA was the biggest bloodscalp guild, what happened? Oh well, this clan/guild will find a new game.

That's partly it, but not entirely. Some of our key players for progression transferred/quit (Raxer and crew, Holysabeline, Snowblind/Epicpvpness, etc). Josh and Nick were both bored with the game, and they didn't feel anyone else was capable of leading the guild/raids. They decided to "disband" instead. The thing that I think affected the guild the most is progression. Some people were for progression, and some people were content with just farming normal versions of raids.
I mean, you quit WoW for like 2-3 weeks, and the guild went on just fine without you. Not saying you weren't a big contribution to the guild quitting, but you weren't the only reason.

Normally when a guild leader quits, the guild dies, sometimes slow, sometimes fast. But it will die without leadership. Nick was a huge part in the guild, without him it would have never been the same. Same goes in case with Josh quitting. No one would have ran the guild better than those two, alot of people wouldn't even want to be apart or even play anymore after they left.

Well I'm on Champions Online right now if anybody ever decides to try it out. It's nothin special, but it's a good "relax" MMO.
I would call that "the guild dying" if it only lasted 2-3 weeks without Nick. Lasting 6 months, maybe you have a point, but Nick is pretty central to everything IA has done.
I don't know if anyone was around back when we had the Imperial themed signatures but it's pretty weird how much Byteme and BlackOps represented those characters lmao

He came back after those 2-3 weeks. The guild would still be going if Josh was still interested. If only one of them took a break at a time, the guild would still be going; however, they both took a break/quit at the same time.
I just think it's pretty selfish to say he's the only reason the guild existed.

He made the guild, he IS the reason it existed. He may not be the only reason it existed til this day, but without him there would be no Imperial Army, in WoW or in any other game. His friends helped him keep the guild strong, but I'm sure they'd all admit, IA wouldn't go on without Nick. It just wouldn't be right. Besides, how many guilds do you actually know that went on without their true guild leader? None. Leader passes from person to person, but no one ever forgets the original maker, and most have terrible problems that end up overall disbanding a guild in the long run. But in all honesty, if there weren't people like Nick, Josh, Matt, Joe, Bill, Ling, and Stu in the guild IA just wouldn't be IA. It would never be core IA without these certain people who've made it into what it was and I think that's the point Noob was trying to get across.

It's a shame that KOTR won't be out until 2011. It's okay though. I've been around since 2004. I've seen games come and go. IA always sticks around. It always will.

I heard STO Beta is bombing right now and some people are just blaming it on Cryptic because they always make crap. Right now SWTOR is in alpha testing and soon to be in closed beta that is if it already hasn't started their closed beta. I give SWTOR right now until end of this year around November, and if it doesn't release around that time then maybe an early 2011 release.
Noob I remember the Imperial Themed Signatures, they were awesome. Bill had the Lobot signature because he was always doing the technical stuff on the forums while Nick had the Darth Vader because he ruled like him. Good Times, I miss Starfire and Z77.

Bombing as in the game is absolutely fucking wonderful. Cryptic did a surprisingly good thing with this game, I was very shocked and am very pleased with it so far. TOR isn't coming out until Spring 2011, it's been stated by the DEVs on the forums since last week. So yeah if anyone is looking for a new MMO until TOR, I'd highly suggest giving STO a chance. Atleast pay the 4-6 bucks on Curse.com or Fileplanet.com to get a beta key for the next week and play, it's definitely worth it.

You think in 4 years and 8 months that this is the first time progression has been slow and that we've lost key players? I can assure you it is not. Not by a long shot. I've built the guild back up from scratch more than once I'm afraid. I was bored with the game, and as such, it became an ideal time for me to quit, because I didn't have the motivation to regenerate the guilds strength. I personally guarantee you that the guild could have gone on quite fine without those players. And I never quit the game, I had other things going on I had to take care of, and everyone in the guild knew I was coming back, there is a difference. That said, I'm sure Josh could have stepped in fine, I had asked him too, but he too was uninterested.
In counter to your statement about the guild dying for many reasons, my question would be this: Had I not quit, would the guild still be going right now? Ask any person who was in the guild for more than a year, and I'm sure they will answer that question for you with ample amount of certainty.
